SUMMARY DUTIES

 

The Prep Cook is responsible for any food preparation related to steam table menu items: including sauces, pasta, vegetables, and the assembly of all finished products. The Prep Cook assists / acts as the Steam Cook and may set-up the steam line, maintain the integrity of the products displayed to be sold by reheating and re-plating as needed, as well as the overall cleanliness of the area. This position is an important role in the Villa experience and career path for advancement within VRG. Food quality and Guest satisfaction are vital components to the success of this position. The Prep Cook is consistently focused on teamwork, willing to go above and beyond to get the job done.

 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES

 

•    100% completion of VRG iLEARN Training required and as new chapters are added

•    Exhibit the iCARE Hospitality Culture promises: iSEE, iSAY, iSMILE

•    Have a positive attitude and wear a smile!!! (it is part of your uniform)

•    Be on time and in full uniform, well organized and efficient throughout for every shift

•    Show respect and courtesy for Team Members and Guests

•    Prepares all steam table food products in accordance to the Recipe Manual

•    Skilled in operation of all kitchen equipment in a safe and sanitary manner

•    Demonstrates full working knowledge of correct product preparation procedures

•    Maintains VRG steam table preparation area clean and spotless

•    Correctly rotates all new and prepared products

•    Must know where and how to store products and utensils correctly

•      Function independently to prepare adequate product according to predetermined production schedules or requirements

•    Uphold all Federal/State laws/regulations and company standards/procedures

•    Ensure that all quality and Health/Safety requirements are met in accordance with Federal, State,

& Local Standards and Company, OSHA and Health Department Standards

•    Apply proper tact and good taste to all conversations

•    Report any safety hazards to management immediately

•    Assist in providing a safe working environment for all Team Members

•    Do not take any risks where safety is concerned

 

•    Assist management with food regulations by making sure food portions are followed

•    Be aware of all menu items and special promotions

•    If you are not serving the guest, be serving someone that is

•    Help and assist management in keeping the restaurant clean and organized

•      Work as part of a team to wash, rinse, sanitize and put away dishes that accumulate in the kitchen

•    Accept constructive criticism from all levels of management and fellow co-workers- don’t take it

personally

•    Maintain constant, consistent communication between yourselves and management

•      Set high expectations for yourself and for the team. Do not compromise your standards and beliefs

•    Have tremendous energy and enthusiasm when you work

•    Be relentless in your pursuit of excellence

•    Be the solution to the problem and not the cause

•    Make every action spirited in fun, while remaining professional at all times

Requirements

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

•    Must be at least18 years of age

•    Excellent communication as well as interpersonal skills with Guests, Team Members and

Supervisors

•      Be patient and willing to cope with difficult situations and misunderstandings without losing your cool

•    Be a good leader as well as a good follower

•    Must have reliable transportation to and from work

•    Flexible work schedules (including weekends & Holidays)

•    Complete Tasks in a timely manner

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

This position is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk to or hear. Regular lifting and/or moving up to
