What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Perform tier 3 level support for end user and internal IT problems related to XPO's corporate systems
  • Research, resolve, and respond to support inquiries in accordance with current software offerings, third party software, and legacy software systems
  • Prepare for and support new applications within technical area including product installation and documentation
  • Act as product liaison for corporate software products including working with third parties to solve technical issues, as required
  • Determine, implement, and monitor system performance and interfaces
  • Spearhead resolving any system bugs and deteriorating system performance
  • Work with end users to understand and resolve problem areas within the systems that could be improved for efficiency and accuracy
What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related field or an equivalent combination of education and professional-level related technical experience
  • 1 year of technical experience support of applications, and scripting/programming (VB or Java)
  • Experience with IIS, Tomcat, VMware, FTP connections, and both server and pc hardware
  • General knowledge of Windows 2008/2012/2016 server
  • Hands-on experience with SolarWinds, Spiceworks, or other systems monitoring software
  • Experience with deployment/patch management solutions such as WSUS or SCCM
  • MS Active Directory and Group Policy knowledge; general understanding of TCPIP and routing
It'd be great if you also have:
  • SQL and load balancer experience
  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn new applications
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize job requirements in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to clearly and concisely document a technical issue from discovery to research, and from solution to implementation
  • Ability to troubleshoot applications (eg., understanding task manager and what to look for)
