We are currently looking for an Acoustic Pulsation Analysis Engineer with experience with Reciprocating Pumps for oil & gas OEM in the Dallas, TX area. 
 
Position Summary: This Acoustic Pulsation Analysis Engineer is expected to uphold the mission, vision and values established by the organization.

Essential Functions
• Verifies appropriate materials needed for analysis and communicates those needs to Sales team
• Reviews customer PO’s and specifications; validating specifications against sales quote(s)
• Build piping system models for acoustical analysis using internal software
• Design piping systems that conform to API 618/674/688 recommendations
• Make recommendations for changes to the system to meet API or customer performance requirements
• Communicate directly with the customer throughout the analysis, including any scheduling changes that may impact delivery of the final report
• Prepare timely and accurate technical reports to professional standards
• Perform other duties and tasks as required and/or assigned

Qualifications of Acoustic Pulsation Analysis Engineer
• Mechanical Engineer or Technologist (BS ME or BS MET).
• Professional Engineer (PE) License is highly preferred or ability to sit for PE exam within a reasonable timeframe.
• Four (4) years of acoustical analysis work in either gas or liquid fluids.
• Good knowledge of vibration fundamentals and ability to investigate and troubleshoot vibration problems, with an understanding of performance,           reliability, and maintenance issues.
• Must have analysis experience in reciprocating equipment such as compressors and pumps. Experience in piping systems would be a plus.
• A working knowledge of the API 674/API 618/API 688 standards would be a plus.
• Ability to analyze acoustic responses caused by pulsation and shaking forces in piping systems per API 674 Design Approaches 1, 2 and 3.
• Experience with piping support analysis would be a plus.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs, including a good working knowledge of ANSYS, PULSIM or similar software.
• An understanding of pulsation and torsional vibrations in reciprocating equipment and/or piping systems, their causes and remedial actions.
• Experience in field analysis and on-site measurement collection of vibration data
• Must be able to speak and read the English language fluently

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Conditions/Environment
Majority of work will be performed in an internal office environment working under normal office conditions.  Additional environments include, but are not limited to, meeting with customers or other business contacts both in field locations (work sites), customer offices, third party locations and company facilities; exposure to standard construction, manufacturing and engineering lab conditions.
 
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. The employee may be required to bend; twist, stoop, crouch or kneel on an infrequent basis.  Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis.

Travel
Travel may be required up to 10% of the time including overnight, out of state and out of country travel.
