A hands-on technologist, developing applications process in partnership with R&D and customers. Typical application process includes one and two parts liquid dispensing for automotive, industrial and consumer electronics segments. The Senior Applications Engineer functions provides global support through design and administration of internal screening evaluations on developmental and commercialized products, optimization of material assembly processes and design support to customer through thermal modeling and simulation work.

 

 

What we offer\:

  • Proactively work with R&D and Customers to conceives novel approaches to application process development, troubleshooting, and material characterization. • Conducts all laboratory work in a safe manner including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adherence to site safety practices, use of laboratory equipment, 5S, etc. • Technical expert in Thermal Interface Material (TIM) applications and troubleshooting technique. • Demonstrates implicit understanding of customer culture and anticipates their needs when developing new processes. • Successfully handles on-site support of complex customer issues. • Regularly uses project/program management skills/tools to drive regional/global projects to completion. • Expected to coordinate global Engineering resources supporting the growth and maintenance of Henkel’s TIM business and ensuring cross-regional communication and collaboration. • Ability to solve technology-specific fundamental problems associated with entire product lines and/or product classes. • Generates internal/external testing plans and/or experiments based on sound statistical methods. • Demonstrated knowledge of major products, technologies and/or processes associated with TIM. • Identifies unique opportunities that create customer value that leads to the generation of sales. • Contributes notably to road mapping of technology/business development associated with TIM business.

Qualification:

Who we are looking for\:

  • Requires a MS OR PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or other related fields. • 3+ Years’ experience working with direct customer applications in an adhesives, coatings, printed circuit board, thermal management or related industries is required. • Knowledge of thermally conductive composite material chemistry is desirable. • Must be experienced with thermally conductive material characterization methods. • Hands on experience in Finite Elemental Analysis tools such as ANSYS and ABAQUS is a plus. • Experience in material deposition technique such as, dispensing, printing and spraying is desired. • Experience in writing technical papers or reports as well presenting results to a technical team. • Ability to work in a chemical lab environment and with lab equipment and computers. Able to carry out laboratory activities. • Uses good scientific judgment, statistical analysis, root cause identification and robust solution implementation.
