Overview:   Energy Management Systems (EMS) Programmers perform the duties of a Call Center Rep as well as scheduling lights, HVAC, sales for 650+ stores. EMS Programmers are an integral part of the Facility Management Team, supporting all Macy’s Inc. locations by turning on and off the lights and HVAC with in company standards while creating a comfortable shopping environment for our customers. EMS programmers are required to respond to work on an “on call” basis for emergencies and work non-standard hours and flexible shifts. Perform other duties as assigned.   Essential Functions: Flexible work schedule based upon the needs of the retail business. EMS programmers are required to work extended hours during the holidays, inventory, and energy emergencies as demanded.  Perform all functions/duties of the Call Center Rep position.  Schedule, monitor and adjust lighting and HVAC for stores nationwide.  Schedule all holiday, inventory, special events and sales for lighting and HVAC based on company standards. Monitor store temperatures to standards and trouble shoot with field technicians any lighting or HVAC issues.  Documents all maintenance details in Work Order Management Systems (WOMS) Special Projects as assigned Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality  Qualifications: Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree preferred  Basic knowledge of EMS/HVAC and Lighting Technologies is required Communication Skills Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Mathematical Skills Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Reasoning Ability Strong attention to detail, strong problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Physical Demands This position requires regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking. May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Other Skills Strong typing and computer skills Has the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and the ability to remain calm in emergency situations Maintains strong sense of urgency and follow up skills Must be proficient in MS Office products as well as an understanding of one or more programming languages (VB, Object-oriented, etc.) Strong leadership profile and excellent negotiation skills.
