This position will manage a team of Network Engineers and Technicians using industry best practices, develop and maintain the Enterprise Store Network Architecture for large and complex systems. Provides guidance, road maps, principles, standards and best practices. Focused on enabling business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. Influences key business decisions.
- Provide Level 1, 2 and 3 support for all store network infrastructure including, but not limited to Store Wifi, Store routing and switching, Telephony, LAN and WAN functions.
- Expert knowledge of large scale distributed network systems running on legacy and latest technologies, such as SDWAN.
- Extensive experience managing a remote team effectively, provide 24x7 coverage for all critical systems.
- Develops and communicates organization-wide policies, standards, guidelines and procedures. Promotes the Store network process, outcomes and results to the organization and senior leadership.
- Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to guide Network Architecture decision making.
- Reviews, analyzes, and develops store netowrk requirements at the enterprise level. Aligns architectural requirements with IT and business strategy. Understands business and IT priorities and develops architectural plans to achieve those priorities.
- Ensures new capability compatibility with existing solutions, infrastructure, services, and strategic requirements.
- Proactively identifies system, application, and infrastructure reuse goals, opportunities, and standards. Ability to troubleshoot in heterogenous complex environments.
- Leads teams in developing plans and assessing improvement to the Store Network support. Champions improvement initiatives related to design quality.
- Provides strategic consultation to business partners and IT teams. Advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits, system impacts, and technology priorities. Works with business leaders to understand business requirements and help them understand how technology tradeoffs influence strategy. Consults on application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to the technical architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical/solution architecture to accommodate project needs. Consults on assigned projects and maintains knowledge of their progress.
- Leads the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities. Considers potential impact to domain/portfolio architecture. Provides recommendations based on business relevance, appropriate timing, and proposed deployment schedules.
Domain Specialization: Expert across Store network (LAN and WAN) and compliance architectural domains. Expert in how all the solution pieces fit together to deliver the business requirement.
Security Architecture: responsible for developing and implementing enterprise information security and compliance architectures and solutions. Serve as security and compliance expert in application, network, and platform security. Develops security standards and helps project teams and business units comply with enterprise and IT security policies, compliance policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
Infrastructure Architecture: Identify requirements across an infrastructure domain, and develop and administer infrastructure-specific standards such as specific hardware and system software technologies, configurations, and protocols. Provide design recommendations based on the Enterprise Reference Architecture and long-term strategy and develop enterprise-level infrastructure solutions.
The incumbent will supervise exempt level domain and senior enterprise architect personnel, including interviewing, hiring, training, assignment delegation, periodic performance evaluation and disciplinary action and termination when necessary.
Typically the incumbent will be in an office setting seated, in artificial light and working for prolonged periods of time on the computer. Some travel may be required.
Ten or more years of progressively responsible professional experience in function or seven years of experience in specialized function.
