Our Client in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for a CNC Mill Machinist! Position will start on 3rd shift CNC Mill Machinist will perform the duties required to set up, adjust, verify, and operate numerically controlled machines to perform sequences of operations to fabricate plastic materials under general supervision.


RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CNC MILL MACHINIST:

  • Sets up, adjusts and keys in or downloads program, correlates machine position with control and operates numerically controlled machines to perform a series of progressive machining operations to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications
  • Works from program operational data and set up instructions defining and coding tool arrangements, fixturing, material clamping methods, machine calibration and console settings for operations
  • Arranges, mounts, secures tooling in machine rack, magazine or turrets and sets stops, calibrates fixture or work piece to material reference point and manually cycles machine through operation sequence adjusting machine to correct deviations from program specifications
  • Operates control console checking work position at specified reference points, interprets part drawings and uses required precision inspection instruments to inspect work maintaining tolerance requirements throughout the process
  • Recognizes and reports technical variations in program and operational sequences, tool settings, dimensional and finish deviations and assists with or individually makes corrective adjustments within prescribed limits
  • Deburrs parts, performs final inspection, completes paperwork and prepares parts for transport to packaging

REQUIREMENTS OF THE CNC MILL MACHINIST:

  • Education: Requires a high school education or GED
  • Experience: Requires three years of general machining/CNC machine experience
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, hear and use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
  • The employee must exert up to 60 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include clarity of vision at 20 feet or more as well as 20 inches or less
  • Must be able to handle exposure to manufacturing environment on a regular basis
  • Must maintain and safeguard the confidential information of the company
  • Must comply with company policies and procedures
  • Must maintain a clean work environment following all safety procedures and regulations
  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Must be able to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Must be able to effectively work and interact with others
  • Must be able to use strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and manage time well
  • Must be able to be well organized and prioritize successfully

Pay range: $16.50-$18.50 pending experience
Hours: M-F 11pm-7am
