Registered Nurse

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Home Health team! Below are some of the responsibilities that the position entails:

​Responsibilities:

• Provide basic patient care and treatment
• Perform selected skilled actions in the provision of curative, rehabilitative, palliative, or preventative
  nursing care, as necessary, to meet the client’s needs
• Record a patient’s medical history, symptoms, and vitals.
• Assist with the preparation, implementation, and continuing evaluation of the patient care plan
• Administer medication and other doctor-recommended treatment plans
• Educate and update patients on medical treatments
• Discuss, with the appropriate supervisor, the need for the involvement of other members of the health team such as the Home Attendant, the Physical Therapist, the Speech Therapist, the Occupational Therapist, The Medical Social Worker, etc.
• Obtain orders for paraprofessional service and submit a referral to the appropriate personnel
• Prepare and fax requested information for MD office
• Continually strive to improve his/her nursing care skills by attending in-service education, through formal education, attendance at workshops, conferences, active participation in professional and related organizations, and individual research and reading  
• Comply with federal, state, and local nursing regulations, standards, and policies
• Prepare, obtain, and follow up on service authorization requests
• Enter and update client information into database
• Submit monthly auditing report
• Review clinical notes
• Perform 90 days supervisory for patients

​Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Must be licensed, in the state of Virginia, as a Registered Nurse
• One, or more, years of experience, in a community/home health agency setting, is preferred.
• Must have a working knowledge of home healthcare and the principles and techniques of professional nursing and required documentation that pertains to it
• Should be skillful in organization and in the principles of time management and have knowledge of management processes
• Must be able to contribute to the quality of care being rendered through constructive communication with nursing managers and staff
• Must have a criminal background check
• Must have a current CPR certification. Online certification is not accepted
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with medical tools and equipment
• Ability to build rapport with patients
• Compassionate and caring demeanor
