Job SummaryThis position is responsible for coordinating and managing the implementation of Learning Support (LS) policies and procedures.
ResponsibilitiesCompliance -
Serve as a point of contact for the System Office for matters related to Learning Support.
Ensure that appropriate corequisite Learning Support courses are provided for all admitted students requiring Learning Support.
Coordinate with institutional admissions, testing centers, and academic departments as needed regarding placement, and ensure that all students are appropriately placed.
Ensure that Learning Support placement and progress are accurately flagged and tracked in Banner.
Ensure all students with Learning Support requirements are in compliance with state (BOR) and University regulations.
Work closely with the Office of Institutional Research and OTR to maintain accurate records for placement of students, LS attempts by each student, and assessment of LS students.
Represent the Learning Support program in terms of policies and procedures at state and regional meetings.
Communication -
Coordinate and provide training of institutional faculty, staff, and administrators as needed to ensure appropriate implementation of the corequisite Learning Support model.
Coordinate communication of all Learning Support policies and procedures to appropriate offices.
Work closely with the chairs of the academic departments responsible for the Learning Support curriculum to ensure sufficient number of sections are available to meet the need.
Other -
Supervise and manage a multi-campus team of student mentors (paid student assistants) who provide semester-long support to students.
Work with student mentors to develop and host events and educational workshops that supplement University¿s commitment to student engagement and campus presence.
Maintain currency of academic catalog in terms of Learning Support Program policies and procedures
Prepare reports for academic deans, department chairs and the Office of the Provost
Perform related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
Master's degree Required Experience Minimum of two (2) years experience in higher education working with academically under-prepared students
Understanding of University student development and academic issues; ability to work with external constituents
Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal, collaborative, and supervisory skills
Skilled in organization and coordination of complex projects
Ability to work independently
Ability to interpret and implement university policies and procedures
Ability to analyze and utilize data for problem solving and improving services
