JOB TITLE: SENIOR PROJECT SCHEDULER

DEPARTMENT: PRODUCTION

REPORTS TO: SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT

Job Summary:

The Senior Project Scheduler will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and tracking project schedules using Microsoft Project, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within the project scope. This role requires close collaboration with key stake holders to create and implement master schedules, identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, and ensure successful project execution.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage project schedules from initiation through closeout.
  • Support and collaborate with different internal organizations (Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Flight Operations, and R&D teams) by having properly Resource Loaded Schedules, with reflective logic and duration that will inform about resource over allocation and under absorption, and ability to move forward in the project due to internal/ external constraints.
  • Develop, maintain, analyze, and manage project activities and resources to the level necessary to support project and department requirements and needs.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on baselines for schedules.
  • Identify internal and external resources for meeting project objectives.
  • Identify internal and external resources in the schedule and any resource constraints on current projects and future demands.
  • Communicate project status and resource loading with team leads, Project Managers, Directors, and Executive teams.
  • Anticipate project plan changes and key stake holders of potential project impacts, conflicts and assist in driving towards solutions.
  • Expedite project plan changes and negotiate and coordinate internal and external reallocation of resources to accommodate changes and conflicts.
  • Evaluate key functional department forecasts to assure desired project performance results are achieved.
  • Initiate actions and assist in developing alternative solutions resolving potential project impacts, resource constraints, and schedule conflicts.
  • Coordinate intra and inter departmental activities to assure adherence to schedule and establish guidelines.
  • Prepare and facilitate weekly meetings reviewing project status and identify actions to resolve project impacts and schedule conflicts
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC REQUIRMENTS:

  • B.S. + 8 years of demonstrated experience in project planning or scheduling. Degree should be focused on Business, Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or other related fields. An A.S. + 10 of relevant project planning or scheduling experience may be considered. 12+ years of related project planning or scheduling experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and or Project Server.
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to brief board of directors and executive teams on project statuses.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Familiarity with Solidworks and PDM
  • Experience in project management software and tools (e.g. MS Project).
  • Ability to effectively communicate over a variety of platforms (e.g. email, MS Teams, etc)
  • Understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Department of Defense, US, and other military branches
