JOB SUMMARY: An integral member of the Patient Care Services Lactation Program, the Lactation Nurse Navigator provides human milk feeding education and support throughout the continuum of maternity care, which includes pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. The goal of the navigator position is to improve human milk feeding outcomes through interdisciplinary, community-based care coordination with an emphasis on the provision of patient-centered lactation consultation services.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• A minimum of 3-5 years of RN experience in Maternal Child Health in an acute care or community outpatient setting is required
• Maryland Registered Nurse License (RN)
• American Heart Association BLS Certification
• IBCLC required or in-process and able to obtain within 6 months of start date
