Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Physical Therapist:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical conditions, functional limitations, and mobility.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and patient goals.
- Utilize various therapeutic techniques, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals, patients, and families regarding treatment plans, progress, and discharge recommendations.
- Educate patients and their families on the therapeutic process, home exercise programs, and injury prevention.
- Provide support and encouragement to patients to enhance their motivation and compliance with therapy.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and discharge planning to coordinate patient care.
- Adhere to regulatory and facility policies, including documentation standards, safety protocols, and infection control procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications of the Physical Therapist:
- Graduate of a physical therapy curriculum accredited by either the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) or Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy (CAPT).
- Hold a valid State Physical Therapy License.
