Job Summary:
Are you a skilled Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) seeking a fulfilling role? Join our team in Sycamore, IL, where you'll facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals and their peers in educational settings, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in American Sign Language (ASL) or Education Interpreting
• Certification with a minimum 3.2 score on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
• Eligible for or hold a Professional Educator License (PEL) for interpreters in Illinois
• Strong fluency in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa in various educational environments
• Collaborate closely with educators and professionals to support student success
• Assist in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Provide ASL support during instructional activities to ensure student comprehension
• Uphold confidentiality and maintain professional ethics
