  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant equipment involving checking voltages, changing out bad components, switching out gauges, as well as making camera and software adjustments
  • Review PLC program and diagnose machine faults/failures related to servos, AC Motion Controls, robotics, VFDs & related electronic components .
  • Work with Allen-Bradley PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), including programming, configuring, and diagnosing issues with control systems.
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot ABB robots used in automated production processes, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to assist in troubleshooting and installation processes.
  • Calibrate, install, and repair a wide variety of industrial instrumentation and control systems, such as sensors, drives, and HMI systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks on robotic systems, PLCs, and electrical equipment to reduce equipment failure and downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to improve equipment performance, implementing improvements and upgrades when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment when dealing with electrical equipment and automated systems.
  • Stay updated on new technology and developments in automation, controls, and robotic systems to optimize equipment performance.


Requirements:

Education/Credentials/Certifications

  • Technical Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Length of Experience

  • 3+ years of experience working with Allen-Bradley controls and ABB robotic systems in an industrial environment (preferably in forging or heavy manufacturing).

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of electronics
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming, especially in Allen-Bradley’s Studio 5000 or RSLogix 5000 platforms
  • Experience working with ABB robot programming and troubleshooting, with familiarity in ABB’s RobotStudio or related software
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and troubleshooting electrical control systems
  • Understanding of industrial safety standards, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Intermediate algebraic mathematical ability
  • Understanding of standard to metric conversions
  • Ability to follow step-by-step procedures
  • Willingness to learn
