The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Purchasing Manager to join our team. In this role, you will manage purchasing activities for our apparel lines, working closely with vendors to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of materials and products. The ideal candidate has a strong background in buying or purchasing, with a focus on cost analysis and value engineering, and thrives in a vendor-facing role. This position is critical to driving efficiencies, cost optimization, and high-quality product delivery.


What youll do:

  • Oversee the purchasing process for all apparel categories, ensuring alignment with business needs and financial targets.
  • Partner with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts, maintaining strong and transparent relationships.
  • Conduct detailed cost breakdowns and cost engineering to identify opportunities for value optimization without compromising quality.
  • Drive year on year cost improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, product development, and finance, to meet production deadlines and cost objectives.
  • Drive analytics-based decisions by tracking and evaluating key purchasing metrics, including cost savings, vendor performance, and delivery timelines.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in purchasing processes and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor and drive supplier performance based on quality, delivery time, and pricing.
  • Proactively track market trends and industry benchmarks to ensure competitive pricing and terms.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor agreements for audit and analysis purposes.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and address any issues with suppliers.


What youll bring to the team:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 4+ years of experience in purchasing or buying within the apparel industry or a related field.
  • Natural ability to partner in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to inform purchasing decisions
  • Experience with cost breakdowns, value engineering, and vendor negotiations.
  • Exceptional vendor-facing skills, with a focus on building and maintaining collaborative relationships.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems and tools; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to come into our HQ in Los Angeles, CA a minimum of 3 days/week
  • Bonus Points: Experience in apparel or textile manufacturing processes.
