Job Title: Shift Lead
Location: Tropical Smoothie Cafe
Reports To: General Manager / Assistant Manager

Position Summary:
As a Shift Lead at Tropical Smoothie Cafe, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations during your shift, ensuring excellent customer service, managing the team, and maintaining smooth restaurant operations. You will act as a leader on duty, ensuring the cafe runs efficiently, while upholding brand standards and motivating team members to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Supervision:
  • Lead and supervise crew members during your shift, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and according to company standards.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members, helping them improve their skills and performance.
  • Monitor team performance and assist in resolving any conflicts or challenges that arise during the shift.
• Customer Service:
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained, handling customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Greet customers, take orders, and ensure they are satisfied with their experience.
  • Help ensure the store delivers a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
• Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily operations during your shift, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service.
  • Manage cash handling, register operations, and ensure the accuracy of transactions.
  • Ensure food safety standards are followed, maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and closing down the cafe at the end of the shift.
• Inventory & Stock Management:
  • Assist in managing inventory levels, ensuring all supplies are stocked and available for the shift.
  • Monitor product quality and freshness, making sure that all items meet company standards.
  • Perform inventory counts and assist with ordering as needed.
• Training & Development:
  • Provide ongoing training to new employees and support their integration into the team.
  • Help ensure that all crew members are knowledgeable about product offerings, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Administrative Duties:
  • Complete shift reports and documentation as required by management.
  • Track labor costs and ensure that staffing levels meet the business needs.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a fast-paced restaurant or retail environment.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate team members to meet goals and maintain high standards.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure during peak times.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic math and cash handling skills.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and reaching.
• Fast-paced environment with the need to multitask and maintain focus under pressure.
• Occasionally required to work late nights, weekends, and holidays.

• 1+ year of experience in the food & restaurant industry
• Available to work: late at night
