Physician / Pain Management / New York / Locum or Permanent / Registered Nurse- Pain Management Department Job

WCS Healthcare is working with Suffolk County's top Health System who has an immediate opening in their Pain Management Practice. This is a full time Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:30pm role with No Weekends!

Job Function:

• Prepare your patient care area adequately, ensuring availability of necessary pain management equipment and supplies.
• Perform pre-procedure calls, evaluate for any contraindications for the procedure, evaluate patient knowledge of upcoming procedure and educate as needed.
• Conduct a complete history, physical and psychological assessment to evaluate your patient prior to any procedure.
• Monitoring of patients under sedation during procedures.
• Monitoring post-procedure patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia and providing updates to the treatment team as needed.
• Treating pain, nausea, and other post-procedure symptoms of anesthesia and administering medication as prescribed.
• Educating patients and their families on post-procedure care, as well as answering questions.
• Assess post nerve block patients for changes to pain and the duration of relief.
• Triage patient messages on RN phone line and respond to patient messages and assess patient condition.
