Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to patients in the pre-operative and post-operative phases of ambulatory surgery, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical experience. You will work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Operative Care:

    • Conduct thorough patient assessments.
    • Prepare patients for surgery, including medication administration, IV fluids, and patient education.
    • Obtain informed consent and ensure all pre-operative requirements are met.
    • Coordinate with surgical team to ensure a smooth transition to the operating room.
  • Post-Operative Care:

    • Provide post-anesthesia care, monitoring patient recovery and vital signs.
    • Manage pain and address patient concerns.
    • Prepare patients for discharge, providing clear instructions and follow-up care.
    • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth patient transitions.
  • General Responsibilities:

    • Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
    • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Participate in quality improvement activities.
    • Provide patient and family education as needed.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
    • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a surgical setting, or ambulatory surgery center experience required.
  • Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong clinical skills and knowledge.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Certifications:

    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required
