Diesel Technician/Mechanic - Mobile Refrigeration (Thermo-King/Carrier)

div div div bPosition Summary:nbsp;/b /div div A Penske Refrigeration Technician will diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair all series of motor truck and trailer equipment with the primary focus on all refrigeration unit maintenance equipment designed for commercial trucks and trailers. /div div nbsp; /div div bMajor Responsibilities:nbsp;nbsp;/b /div div • Perform all levels of maintenance services, with the primary focus on all refrigeration unitnbsp; such as Carrier and/or Thermo King commercial refrigeration equipment designed for commercial trucks and trailers. /div div • Be able to test lines, components, and connections using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic test equipment /div div • Read complex schematics associated with the refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. /div div • Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order /div div • Maintain work area appearance and safety /div div • Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly. /div div • Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner /div div • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists. /div div • Provide additional support regarding preventative maintenance and tractor trailer maintenance as required by location management /div div • Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications. /div div • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor /div div br/ /div /div /div div div /div /divh3Qualifications/h3divdiv bQualifications:/b /div div • 6 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance required /div div • High school diploma or equivalent required /div div • Vocational/Technical or certification preferred /div div • Specialized training and experience in the overhaul of refrigeration components requirednbsp; /div div • ASE Certification preferred /div div • 608/609 certifications preferred /div div • Proficiency in the use of all necessary tools of trade required /div div • Current CDL license with air brake certification preferred /div div • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook required /div div • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment is required /div div div • The associate will be required to understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management /div div • The associate must be able to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies; including but not limited to the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practice. /div /div div • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job /div div • As this position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The driver qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years.
