Job Description
Job Summary: The Financial Analyst will assist in the month-end general ledger closing process and be responsible for preparing journal entries when appropriate. The Financial Analyst will assist with the preparation of labor corrections for research projects and assist with helping reconcile various reports involving projects, funds, and cost centers for accuracy and completeness. The Financial Analyst will work closely with the Accounting Manager and the rest of the Finance team in fulfilling the following responsibilities below.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, finance, or relevant/related field is required.
Work Experience:
One (1) year of financial analysis, financial auditing, accounting or other relevant experience in a finance related department.
Other Requirements:
Must be detail oriented and be able to prepare various work products from the perspective of a reviewer.
Must have strong computer skills, primarily in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Powerpoint.)
Must be flexible and possess the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs &/or priorities.

The Financial Analyst will work closely with the Accounting Manager and the rest of the Finance team in fulfilling the following responsibilities below.
Summary of Essential Duties:
- Assist with processing historical corrections submitted by various departments for percent allocation and labor cost transfers.
- Responsible for processing cost transfer requests from the Office of Research Administration (ORA).
- Act as a liaison for various departments within Finance, including General Accounting and ORA, in order to maintain compliance with Grants and General Accounting.
- Support Principal Investigators (PI's) and their research staff by researching their questions and addressing cost transfer forms.
- Provide guidance to various departments in understanding their financial reports.
- Assist with wire and check identification and daily cash deposit process.
Qualifications
