This position is responsible for vehicle delivery and returning vehicles to Penske locations and Penske customers. Primarily, this position moves our box trucks up to 26’ and for CDL Class A will include tractors and trailer movement. Position may also provide assistance to the service department to deliver parts and equipment. /div div br/nbsp; /div div This is a casual/on-call part-time truck driving job that is perfect for licensed CDL Class B or CDL Class A drivers seeking supplemental income and looking to work anywhere from 0 to 25 hours a week based on business needs.nbsp; /div div nbsp; /div div This position will work at 226 Oxmoor Circle Birmingham, AL and is scheduled Tuesday – Saturday 6am-2pm. /div div br/nbsp; /div div strongMajor Responsibilities:/strong /div div • Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to destination of Penske location or customer locations /div div • Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, report to location manager if any issues are found /div div • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required /div div • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles /div div • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor /div div br/nbsp; /divh3Qualifications/h3divdiv strongQualifications:/strong /div div • 2 years of driving experience required /div div • 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record required /div div • CDL Class B license required /div div • CDL Class A license preferred /div div • Ability to read and follow written instructions is required. /div div • Ability to work independently, customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude are required /div div • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job /div div div • As this position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The driver qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review. /div /div div • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required. /div div nbsp; /div div This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.
