SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, responsible to provide assistance in hemodialysis therapy for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease and to provide technical support for equipment. Responsibilities also include providing basic patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the patient.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Three (3) months job related experience required.
- Must obtain Hemodialysis Technician certification under a State certification program, or a national commercially available certification program, within 18 months of employment, according to the certification requirements of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services End Stage Renal Disease Conditions for Coverage.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- Hemodialysis experience preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or equivalent medical background (i.e. EMT, CNA) preferred.
