Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom settings.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate effective munication and enhance student learning.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development as required.
- Maintain records of services provided and progress notes as needed.
- Ensure pliance with all local regulations and school policies regarding interpretation.
Qualifications:
- Current ISBE Approval as a Sign Language Interpreter.
- EIPA certification of 3.0 or higher for temporary approval.
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills.
- Experience working in educational settings preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and munication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.
This contract position offers a structured schedule of 32.5 to 35 hours per week, depending on the school calendar. As both an elementary and high school interpreter are needed, there are varied opportunities to match your skills and preferences.
