A dynamic opportunity awaits for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with experience in school settings. This position is located in Sylmar, CA, within a K-12 environment, where you'll play a vital role in supporting students' occupational therapy needs.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • At least one year of recent experience in the field, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
  • Ability to pass a prehensive background check
  • mitment to continuing education and professional development as required by the state and district

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering occupational therapy services under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Implement therapeutic activities and interventions aligned with students educational and developmental goals
  • Monitor and document student progress, collaborating with the OT to modify treatment plans when needed
  • Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to address and support students needs
  • Maintain accurate and plete records in accordance with state and district regulations
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy
