Job Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist II is responsible for providing patient care in the Heart & Vascular Institute, specifically for invasive cardiology and radiology procedures. This role involves assisting physicians during procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment.
Essential Functions:
- Administer contrast material as per physician's request, including IV placement and venipuncture.
- Recognize and respond to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
- Assist with inventory and supply management.
- Verify patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.
- Compile relevant clinical information (e.g., lab and pathology results).
- Provide accurate documentation and communicate procedural details to the team.
- Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort, safety, and confidentiality.
- Perform on-call duties and variable shifts as needed.
- Assist in training new staff members.
Department-Specific Duties:
- Administer and withhold contrast and treatment as appropriate.
- Perform peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, embolization (venous and arterial), and venous thrombectomy.
- Conduct dialysis-related procedures (AV fistulas, tunneled dialysis catheters, peritoneal dialysis catheters).
- Handle tube access and changes (G-tube, chole, neph, biliary, abscess, SPC).
- Support interventional neurology procedures (e.g., cerebral arterial/venous, kyphoplasty).
Required Education:
- Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology.

Required Certifications & Licensure:
- BLS (American Heart Association).
- ACLS (American Heart Association).
- IEMA Radiography License (Illinois).
- Radiography (R)(ARRT).
