Job Description
Job Title: Communications and Events Intern
Location: Red Roof
Department: Corp Comms & Community Impact
Job Summary: Support Wawa’s Communications and Events Teams by helping produce cultural communications and events that celebrate associates, customers and the community.
Principal Duties:- Assist with building invitation lists and tracking RSVPs for 95+ Grand Opening Events
- Help organize information and/or complete communication template materials (talking points, fact sheets, press releases, scripts) for Family Nights and Grand Openings
- Research social media handles of local municipalities, police and fire departments, and charity partners to maximize reach on social media channels
- Print and assemble press kits
- Support event execution of All Star Events, Family Nights, Grand Openings, signature events such as Wawa Welcome America/Hoagie Day, GooseJam Events and Corporate Events at Red Roof Campus.
- Track media coverage for Grand Openings and summarize the impact
- Contribute cultural content to internal communication channels (Wawa Engage and Wawa Corporate Communications Channel)
Essential Functions:
- Strong writing skills
- Interest in event planning
- Ability to multitask projects
Basic Qualifications:
- Working towards a degree in Communications, Public Relations, and Event Planning
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends, as required, for events
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs for event setup, breakdown, etc.
