Job Description

A manufacturing company is seeking Shipping/Receiving Clerks to prepare parts for shipment and verify incoming and outgoing shipments. This is a first shift opening working 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Duties:

Pack parts, thread protect, skid parts, wrap, and prepare shipping documents
Load and unload trucks and schedule truck and vans
Affix shipping labels on packed cartons identifying shipping information on cartons
Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers and insert items into containers
Nail covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape
Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
Post weight and shipping charges and affixes postage
Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages, and route items to departments
Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
Operate tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area

Qualifications:

Must have a High School Diploma or GED; or 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have prior Shipping and Receiving experience in a manufacturing setting
Must have previously operated a forklift truck and jib crane
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and have steel toed boots
Must be safety-conscious, have an eye for detail, and be a reliable, team player
Must have a solid work history with no attendance issues
