Position Summary

The Medical Director provides leadership, oversight, and direct clinical support for our clinic. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality medical services, regulatory compliance, supervision of clinical practices, and support of our interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical leadership and direction aligned with organization policies and state/federal regulations

  • Oversee and participate in clinical care delivery, including prescribing and medication management

  • Conduct weekly onsite visits (minimum 25% of clinic operating hours) and provide virtual availability as needed

  • Review clinical documentation (minimum 10% of charts monthly) and monitor care quality

  • Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with clinical and administrative teams

  • Develop, support, and help implement treatment programs and clinical pathways

  • Support quality improvement, staff training, and continuing education initiatives

  • Respond to medical emergencies as needed and support compliance/accreditation reviews

  • Serve as clinical ambassador for patients, families, staff, and community partners

  • Maintain professional and ethical standards consistent with state licensure and medical board standards

Qualifications
  • MD or DO with active Tennessee medical license in good standing

  • Board certification strongly preferred (Addiction Medicine or Internal/Family Medicine preferred)

  • DEA certification and ability to prescribe medication-assisted treatment

  • Experience in addiction medicine, primary care, or behavioral health preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills

  • Ability to meet regulatory, ethical, and documentation standards
