Job Title: Travel Surgical Technologist – Operating Room (CST/OR) Location: Shoals Hospital, Muscle Shoals, AL Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Job Summary: Shoals Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Operating Room team on a travel assignment. This role involves supporting surgical procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient patient care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring instruments and supplies are available and sterile
- Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by handling instruments and supplies
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control standards
- Monitor and manage surgical equipment throughout procedures
- Support patient safety and comfort before, during, and after surgery
- Document procedures and maintain accurate records in compliance with hospital standards
Qualifications:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent operating room experience preferred
- BLS certification required
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile techniques
- Ability to work early morning shifts and adapt to a fast-paced surgical environment
