Physician / Psychiatry / New York / Locum tenens / Adult Psychiatrist - Outpatient Job

A health services organization in New York is looking to add a licensedAdult Psychiatrist to join their growing Outpatient team in Chemung County. In this role, theAdult Psychiatrist will be responsible for providingservices via a comprehensive program of evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients over 18 years of age whose primary diagnosis is a psychiatric disorder.

Responsibilities:

TheAdult Psychiatrist will be responsible for:

• Admission and discharge of patients, including psychiatric examination, evaluation and assessment
• Facilitatinggroup/family education and therapy
• Ordering suicide precautions
• Providingtreatment of children and adolescents, including individual, supportive, behavioral, cognitive and insight oriented therapy
• Ordering laboratory tests or diagnostic assessments, including consultation with medical specialty providers
• Performing first aid and medical triage, including initial physical examination on new admissions
• Providingrestraint and seclusion
• Performingother duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of related Psychiatry experience
• Licenseto practice in the State of New York
• Board Eligible Certified inAdult Psychiatry
• Valid National Provider Identification Number (NPI)
• Valid Federal Narcotics Number (DEA Number)
• Enrolled in CMS and remain an unconditional participating provider in the Medicare and Medicaid OPRA programs
