Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 1+ year of MRI experience for a 4x10 night shift position on a 7-on/7-off schedule in Ogden, UT.

  • Hospital-based MRI department
  • 4x10 hour night shifts on a 7-on/7-off rotation
  • 40 hours per week
  • 13-week contract
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of MRI technologist experience required
  • ARRT – RT(R)(MR) required; ARRT – RT(MR) also accepted
  • Active Utah State License required (if applicable)
  • Current BLS certification (AHA) required — must not expire prior to start date
  • Proficiency with MRI equipment operation, image manipulation, MRI scanner troubleshooting, magnet operation, cryogens, gradient amplifiers, and related computer hardware/software
  • Knowledge of MRI safety policy, Four Zone concept, and MR magnet safety protocols
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques, contrast administration, and quench procedures
  • Epic EMR experience
  • Physical requirements include hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, seeing, and standing
  • DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Performs MRI examinations per department protocol, including proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation
  • Selects scanning techniques and protocols in coordination with the radiologist
  • Administers IV contrast material as ordered and under radiologist or physician supervision
  • Operates and troubleshoots MRI equipment, including scanner shutdown and startup procedures
  • Views, transfers, archives, and manipulates images using electronic imaging systems
  • Completes all required documentation including time stamps, image storage, coding, charging, consent acquisition, and quality control reporting
  • Must obtain IV certification competency within 3 months of starting
  • Must complete controlled substance and moderate sedation modules within 6 months of starting (where applicable)
  • Former permanent staff must have been separated from this facility system for at least 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
