DescriptionThe Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a full-time SeniorNuclear Medicine Technologist to join our innovative Brain Mapping Center. The Brain Mapping Center advances the understanding ofthe human brain by exploring the relationship between structure and function.
As our SeniorNuclear Medicine Technologist you will play a critical role in supporting cutting-edge research by performing and managing sophisticated imaging procedures. You will work in a collaborative, research-drivenenvironment alongside leading neuroscientists and clinicians.
Key responsibilities:
- PerformPET and MRI imaging (structural and functional)
- Prepareresearchparticipantsand scanning areas and ensure safety and comfort
- Assist withinterventional procedures and administercontrastmaterials under radiologist supervision
- Conduct routine quality control checks and troubleshot technical issues
- Administer contrastmaterials under radiologist supervision
- Maintain detailed research participantsrecords and imaging documentation
- Coordinate research participantflow and provide research participanteducation on procedures
- Support investigators with protocol development, scheduling, and data management
- Collaborate with researchers, staff, andresearch participantsto ensure compliance with safety and research standards
Salary range: $60.51/hr - $79.82/hr
QualificationsCompletion of an AMA-approved Radiological Program OR Degree in a related scientific field (required)
California Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) License (required)
Nuclear Medicine Certification from Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (required)
BCLS/CPR Certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross - (preferred)
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (preferred)
Strong knowledge of radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles (required)
Proficiency in imaging procedures, radiopharmaceutical preparation, and quality control techniques (required)
Ability to work safely in a 3 Tesla MRI environment
Proficiency in PET image acquisition and protocol setup (preferred)
Familiarity with radiopharmaceutical (ex: F18, O15) (preferred)
Experience with Siemens MRI scanners (preferred)
Knowledge of regulatory compliance (FDA, IRB, Environmental Health & Safety)
Proficiency in PET image acquisition and protocol setup (preferred)
