Position OverviewWe are seeking a reliable and motivated Water Damage Restoration Technician to join our growing team. This position involves responding to water damage emergencies, performing water extraction, drying services, and restoration work at residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing excellent customer service while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to water damage emergencies in a timely and professional manner
- Perform water extraction using industrial equipment and pumps
- Set up and monitor drying equipment including air movers, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers
- Remove and dispose of non-salvageable materials affected by water damage
- Clean and sanitize affected areas to prevent microbial growth
- Document moisture readings and job progress using industry-standard equipment
- Communicate effectively with customers, explaining the restoration process
- Maintain and clean equipment and vehicles
- Complete detailed job documentation and paperwork accurately
- Follow established safety protocols and OSHA guidelines
- Work collaboratively with team members and project managers
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency response
Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions (wet, confined spaces, etc.)
- Pass background check and drug screening
Preferred:
- Previous experience in restoration, construction, or related field
- IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) certification or willingness to obtain
- Knowledge of water damage restoration procedures and equipment
- Experience with moisture detection equipment
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods
- Capable of climbing ladders and working at heights
- Comfortable working in crawl spaces, attics, and basements
- Ability to kneel, bend, squat, and stand for long durations
- Manual dexterity to operate restoration equipment
