Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join a hospital-based inpatient rehabilitation team in Atlantis, FL as a traveling Physical Therapist. Provide inpatient care to orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurologic and general med/surg populations while supporting a 42-bed inpatient rehab unit. Work with a multidisciplinary team including directors, lead therapists, PTs, PTAs and occupational therapy staff. Meditech is the EMR used on the unit.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
- Active Florida physical therapy license required to start the assignment.
- Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC.
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in hospital acute care, inpatient rehabilitation (IP Rehab), or skilled nursing facility (SNF).
- Ability to work varied day shift hours and participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled.
- Experience with common rehab equipment: treatment beds, exercise balls, resistance bands, treadmills, and exercise bikes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT).
- Experience working in larger teaching or tertiary care settings.
Assignment Details
- Shift hours: 0830–1700.
- Work schedule includes one weekend per month with weekday time off to compensate.
- No on-call requirement.
- Unit averages approximately 12 staff on shift; day staffing typically includes director, lead PT, 4–5 PTs and 5–6 PTAs.

Impacting Patient Care
Provide evidence-based inpatient rehabilitation services that support recovery from surgery, cardiovascular events, neurologic injuries, and complex medical conditions. Follow unit schedules determined by surgical volume and participate in interdisciplinary care planning to optimize patient outcomes. Contribute to time management, documentation in Meditech, and team-based patient care.
