Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of company equipment including concrete trucks, mid-size and heavy-duty vehicles, and skid steers. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge, is comfortable with computer-based diagnostics, and takes pride in keeping equipment job-ready and safe.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues on:

  • Heavy-duty trucks (including concrete mixers)

  • Mid-size fleet vehicles

  • Skid steers and related equipment

• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, inspections, and preventative service

• Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, and hoses

• Utilize computer diagnostics tools to identify and resolve equipment issues

• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure all equipment meets safety standards

• Maintain accurate service and repair records

• Work closely with operations team to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime

• Respond to occasional field service calls if needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanic experience (heavy equipment or fleet preferred)

• Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems

• Experience working on large and mid-size trucks

• Familiarity with skid steers and construction equipment

• Experience with computer diagnostics and troubleshooting tools

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)

• Ability to work early morning start times and a 40–45
