Overview:
Benedictine University is seeking skilled and confident student communicators to join our Phonathon Team. As a Student Phonathon Representative, you will play a vital role in connecting with alumni and donors, sharing the impact of their contributions, and encouraging support for the University.
This position is ideal for students who are comfortable and professional on the phone, able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, and confident in holding engaging conversations. The role is also highly focused on accurately updating alumni, parent, and friend information, so attention to detail and professionalism in collecting data is essential.
Phonathon Representatives are required to work a minimum of two shifts per week (Monday–Thursday, 6:00–9:00 PM). Paid training will be provided. Join a fun and motivated team while building valuable career-ready skills!
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:00–9:00 PM
Responsibilities:
* Conduct outbound calls to alumni, parents, and friends of Benedictine University.
* Share updates about the University and its programs, highlighting the importance of donor support.
* Engage in meaningful, professional conversations to strengthen alumni relationships and encourage contributions.
* Accurately collect, confirm, and record updated alumni and donor information in the database.
* Meet weekly calling goals and maintain consistency in outreach.
* Participate in team meetings to strategize and improve calling techniques.
* Maintain a confident, friendly, and professional demeanor while representing the University.
Required Qualifications:
* Must be a currently enrolled Benedictine student in good standing.
* Strong verbal communication skills with a clear, confident, and engaging speaking style.
* Comfortable initiating and leading conversations over the phone.
* Demonstrated ability to collect and record information accurately and efficiently.
* Attention to detail and professionalism when handling alumni data.
* Reliability and commitment to scheduled calling shifts, with the ability to work at least 2 of the 4 weekly shifts (Monday–Thursday, 6:00–9:00 PM).

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Use of computer screen, phone and customer service. May require bending, or sitting for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Training: As a University employee you are required to complete all University-specific and/or OSHA related training to fulfill your job duties. Specific training will be conducted online or in person. Employees must complete all trainings required by Benedictine University.
