Registered Nurse - Dialysis
Location: Bryan, TX
Start Date: 05-11-2026
End Date: 08-03-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (primarily day/evening): 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM with occasional 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM rotations as needed. Weekend rotation required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule). On-call one night per week and every other Sunday (maximum).

Roles & Responsibilities- Provide expert acute dialysis nursing care for ESRD and acute renal failure patients in both the dialysis suite and ICU settings
- Perform peritoneal dialysis initiation, hookup, disconnect and termination with Baxter Home Choice equipment
- Cannulate AVF/AVG and manage CVC access safely and competently
- Recognize and manage hemodialysis complications and emergencies promptly and confidently
- Titrate and manage heparin per unit protocol and set infusions as required
- Collaborate with monitor techs, RTs and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care in acute and ICU environments
- Float between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed while maintaining continuity and quality of care
- Precept and mentor colleagues when assigned to support team development
- Active RN licensure (required)
- BSN not required for submission (listed as not required)
- Hands-on experience with peritoneal dialysis systems, specifically Baxter Home Choice
- Proficiency with MEDITECH charting and electronic documentation
- Strong acute care dialysis knowledge including heparin management and complication recognition
- Telemonitoring awareness — ability to collaborate with monitor techs and manage bedside/central monitoring in ICU
- Ability to float between nearby campuses and adapt to different unit workflows
- Precepting and teaching skills to support newer staff

Requirements
- Active RN license eligible for practice in Texas (license to submit: yes)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA or APEX where specified)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (acute care/dialysis experience preferred and explicitly requested)
- Demonstrated competence in peritoneal dialysis hookup/disconnect and hemodialysis procedures
- Proven skills in AVF/AVG cannulation and CVC site/catheter care
- Comfortable working in ICU settings with vents, HiFlow, CPAP/BiPAP when needed
- Reliable attendance and ability to meet on-call and weekend rotation expectations
