Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks (nights), holidays covered in rotation; high-acuity ICU schedule with required floats to other ICUs and Westgate as needed

Requirements
- Provide expert, high-acuity nursing care to post-cardiac surgery and CVICU patients, including those on IABP, CRRT and ECMO
- Continuously monitor and rapidly interpret dysrhythmias and respond appropriately
- Perform and maintain sterile technique for central line care and Foley insertion during SIMs lab and on the unit
- Collaborate with intensivists, RTs, pharmacy and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Serve as charge nurse when assigned (no patient assignment while charging) and support safe unit flow
- Float to other ICUs and telemetry units as needed, managing variable patient ratios and acuity
- Participate in bedside procedures and assist with bronchoscopy, Swan-Ganz placement/monitoring and epidural care when competent
- Document thoroughly in Cerner and communicate changes in condition clearly during handoffs
- Current, active RN license for practice in the U.S.
- Minimum 2 years of ICU/Cardiac ICU experience (explicit requirement listed)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Level I trauma experience is mandatory for this role
- Strong IV skills; experience with IABP, CABG, CRRT and ECMO is highly valued
- Willingness to pass a dysrhythmia exam (two attempts permitted) and SIMs Lab pass/fail skills on day one of orientation
- Ability to travel with own vehicle if on a travel team; willingness to float to other units and campuses
- Adherence to facility appearance and safety requirements (natural hair color, no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit testing)
