Physical Therapist — Outpatient Hospital — Santa Fe, NM
Provide skilled physical therapy services in an outpatient hospital setting. Assess and treat neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory conditions using therapeutic exercise, modalities, gait and balance training, and functional mobility interventions. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized plans of care, document progress, coordinate with referring physicians, and supervise PT assistants and rehabilitation assistants as indicated. Maintain professional competence through continuing education and participate in quality improvement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Physical Therapy (Doctorate, Master’s, Bachelor’s, or Associate degree in Physical Therapy).
- Current New Mexico Physical Therapist licensure required to start assignment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Experience with outpatient physical therapy evaluations, treatment planning, and common modalities (therapeutic exercise, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, cryotherapy, soft tissue mobilization, gait and balance training).
- Demonstrated skills in assessment/evaluation, clinical decision-making, time management, and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supervising PT Assistants and Rehabilitation Assistants.
- Experience with developing home exercise programs and patient/family education.
- Prior experience working in hospital outpatient or multidisciplinary rehabilitation settings.
Assignment Details
- Shift hours: 10:30 AM – 6:00 PM.
- Work schedule: Five days per week, eight hours per day.
- Outpatient clinical environment.
- Dress code: Khaki pants and white polo.
