Position Summary: TP Mechanical Contractors is seeking Class A CDL Driver for our distribution center in Columbus, Ohio. TP Mechanical delivers end-to-end solutions to our customers, from pre-construction expertise through contracting and fabrication to service and maintenance for piping, plumbing, HVAC/R and fire protection. We do this as a relationship-focused organization that leverages six decades of experience providing innovative solutions with excellence that drive down costs, enhance safety, increase value and deliver speed to occupancy. Works day-to-day on delivery of products and supplies to various work sites in and around Ohio. Creates a positive work environment and represents TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Delivers products, supplies and other items to job-sites daily and in a timely manner.
- Unloads items delivered to job-sites or returned to the warehouse.
- Focuses on safety and safety practices at all times. Abides by all traffic laws and DOT regulations. Drives the company vehicles in a courteous and professional manner.
- Reloads the truck for the next day’s run.
- Helps pull items for orders when needed.
- Driver responsible for driving pickup truck with 40 ft gooseneck trailer and/or enclosed trailer.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years prior driving experience with straight truck.
- Stable work history
- CDL License endorsement B for straight trucks.
- HAZMAT endorsement
- At least one year of experience driving in the following conditions: rain, snow, ice, fog, etc.
Education:
- High School or GED Equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Able to pass the DOT physical.
- Able to climb in and out of truck.
- Lift items weighing up to 60lbs.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good knowledge of Ohio and cities.
- Knowledge of all DOT regulations.
