CV Resources is partnering with a publicly traded company in Seattle to identify a Senior Accountant.

This role is focused on owning the accounting and reporting processes related to inventory across a complex consumer products environment. The position ensures accurate valuation and reporting of inventory balances, supports period-end close activities, and partners closely with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to improve visibility, accuracy, and cost management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end inventory accounting activities, including valuation methods and reserve calculations (e.g., excess and obsolete stock)
  • Execute key components of the month-end close tied to inventory, including journal entries, reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis
  • Evaluate inventory activity, cost of goods sold, and margin performance, translating data into meaningful insights for leadership
  • Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and operations teams to ensure inventory data integrity and accurate costing flows
  • Strengthen and maintain internal control processes over inventory accounting, including SOX-related compliance requirements
  • Coordinate or support periodic physical counts and ongoing cycle count programs, including investigation and resolution of variances
  • Review inventory-related accruals, adjustments, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with external audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries related to inventory
  • Participate in system enhancements, ERP updates, and process improvement initiatives impacting inventory and cost accounting

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience in manufacturing, retail, distribution, or consumer goods environments preferred
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles
  • Experience working with ERP systems (various platforms acceptable)
  • Strong Excel and analytical skill set
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary range: $75,000 – $90,000 depending on experience and qualifications
  • Eligible for bonus compensation and potential equity incentives
  • Standard benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plan options

This is a strong opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working at the intersection of finance and operations, particularly in an environment where inventory plays a critical role in business performance.
