Bilingual Food Pantry Administrative Assistant (English/Spanish)

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and dependable Bilingual Food Pantry Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of a busy food pantry and home delivery program. This position plays an important role in serving a diverse community and requires strong communication skills in both English and Spanish to assist clients with professionalism, respect, and care.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, service-focused environment and is passionate about helping others.


Key Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and emails and assist clients in both English and Spanish
  • Schedule appointments for pantry visits and home delivery services
  • Greet clients, visitors, volunteers, and staff in a welcoming and professional manner
  • Assist Spanish-speaking clients with questions, forms, and program information
  • Maintain accurate client records and required documentation
  • Prepare reports, memos, and assist with general administrative duties
  • Support food distribution activities, including preparing food bags/boxes as needed
  • Assist with receiving, sorting, stocking, and organizing food donations
  • Maintain pantry cleanliness, safety, and inventory organization
  • Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and community members
  • Follow all operational, health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform light cleaning and organizational duties as needed


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is a plus
  • Fluent bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish required
  • Previous administrative, customer service, or office support experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and adaptable
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and treat all individuals with dignity and respect
  • Experience working with diverse populations or community programs is a plus


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Combination of office and light warehouse/stockroom environment
  • May require occasional evenings or weekends based on program needs
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and desk work
