Job Description
Bilingual Food Pantry Administrative Assistant (English/Spanish)

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and dependable Bilingual Food Pantry Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of a busy food pantry and home delivery program. This position plays an important role in serving a diverse community and requires strong communication skills in both English and Spanish to assist clients with professionalism, respect, and care.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, service-focused environment and is passionate about helping others.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer phones and emails and assist clients in both English and Spanish
- Schedule appointments for pantry visits and home delivery services
- Greet clients, visitors, volunteers, and staff in a welcoming and professional manner
- Assist Spanish-speaking clients with questions, forms, and program information
- Maintain accurate client records and required documentation
- Prepare reports, memos, and assist with general administrative duties
- Support food distribution activities, including preparing food bags/boxes as needed
- Assist with receiving, sorting, stocking, and organizing food donations
- Maintain pantry cleanliness, safety, and inventory organization
- Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and community members
- Follow all operational, health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Perform light cleaning and organizational duties as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is a plus
- Fluent bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish required
- Previous administrative, customer service, or office support experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Dependable, team-oriented, and adaptable
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and treat all individuals with dignity and respect
- Experience working with diverse populations or community programs is a plus
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Combination of office and light warehouse/stockroom environment
- May require occasional evenings or weekends based on program needs
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and desk work
