Pride Health is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist/Technician for a 13-week travel assignment. This position requires a strong generalist background with blood bank experience preferred. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and experienced in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and blood bank testing.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank.
- Conduct blood bank testing including:
- Blood typing (ABO/Rh)
- Antibody screening
- Compatibility testing
- Quality control procedures
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection.
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers including:
- Chemistry analyzers
- UA analyzer
- Hematology analyzer
- Coagulation analyzer
- Complete daily quality control and preventative maintenance according to laboratory guidelines.
- Accurately document and report laboratory results in a timely manner.
- Perform miscellaneous testing including serology, microbiology, and microscopic testing.
- Maintain compliance with universal precautions, laboratory policies, and safety standards.
- Demonstrate professional communication with physicians, patients, lab staff, and other healthcare personnel.
Requirements
- Minimum experience as MT, MLT, or MLS in a hospital laboratory setting.
- Blood Bank experience preferred.
- Cerner EMR experience preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and analyzer operation skills required.
- Venipuncture experience required.
- Ability to work independently on night shift.
