Job Description

The "Corrections" Advantage

  • Predictable Structure: Work in an environment with strict security protocols, set schedules, and clear operational boundaries.
  • Expanded Clinical Scope: This isn't just standard floor care. You will assist with intake, blood draws, and clinical administration.
  • The Night Block: 3x12-hour night shifts give you four full days off every week to recharge or pursue outside goals.

Clinical & Administrative Scope

Operating under the direct supervision of the nursing and medical staff, you will be responsible for:

  • Intake & Vitals: Prepare patients for examinations, take detailed histories, record vital signs, and document chief complaints.
  • Advanced Technical Skills: Confidently perform venipunctures (blood draws) and routine laboratory tests as ordered.
  • Administrative Oversight: Transcribe medical provider orders, schedule follow-up appointments, and maintain meticulous electronic health records (EHR).
  • Daily Care Support: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) within the facility's medical unit.
  • Clinic Upkeep: Keep examination and procedure rooms sanitary and fully stocked with adequate medical supplies.

What You Bring to the Facility

We are looking for a reliable, thick-skinned professional who thrives in a highly regulated environment:

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 full year of current work experience as a CNA (prior correctional or urgent care experience is a plus, but not required).
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted state CNA Certification.
  • BLS (AHA)
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven comfort with phlebotomy/venipuncture and navigating electronic health records.
  • Mindset: Strong boundary-setting skills, exceptional communication, and a calm demeanor under pressure.
