Job Description

Join a rapidly growing company as a skilled and dependable Forklift/Material Handling Equipment Technician. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and light repairs across two facilities, maintaining the operational readiness of a fleet of material handling equipment. This includes turret trucks, sit-down forklifts, electric pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, and occasional scissor lifts. This position offers the opportunity to evolve into managing all equipment company-wide.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on electric and propane forklifts.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Source and order parts as needed; manage inventory of critical components.
• Collaborate with operations to minimize equipment downtime.
• Stay current with evolving forklift technologies and repair techniques.
• Execute scheduled PM programs for all material handling equipment.
• Perform inspections, lubrication, battery maintenance, tire checks, and fluid service.
• Identify wear components before failure.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience as a forklift or industrial equipment mechanic.
• 3–5+ years working on forklifts or material handling equipment.
• Experience with multiple forklift brands such as Toyota, Crown, Hyster, Yale, CAT, Komatsu.
• Experience with turret trucks is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of electric and battery-powered lift trucks.
• Familiarity with hydraulic systems and 24V / 36V / 48V electrical systems.

Work Environment

The Maintenance/Engineering Department serves as your home base, where you will work in teams of two. The work environment includes three production buildings with a fourth coming online soon, and you'll train on days for three months before potentially moving to the second shift full-time. You will be provided with a tool kit and will occasionally drive a company van.
