Job Summary: The Surgical Technologist II demonstrates advanced surgical techniques and scrubs on general to moderately complex surgical procedures. Responsibilities include preparing the operating room, ensuring proper functioning of instruments, maintaining cleanliness, assisting RNs, and providing comfort to pre-operative patients. The role requires critical thinking, collaboration, and adherence to departmental policies and procedures. The Surgical Technologist II actively participates in education, training, audits, and governance processes to enhance team practice and career progression.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Graduate of CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technology program
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Surgical Technologist or six months specialized patient care training in the armed forces
• Specific knowledge of surgical procedures within the operating room
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within one month of start date

Preferred Qualifications:

• Surgical Technologist certification
