Manual Machinist

Job Description:

Electric Motor Co. is looking for a full-time Manual Machinist to join our team. This position is for
someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, and experienced with manual machining in
a repair shop or industrial shop environment.

The right person will help machine, repair, and modify parts used on electric motors, pumps,
gearboxes, and related equipment. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to
measure accurately, and the ability to work safely with manual shop equipment.

Job Duties Include:

● Operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and other shop equipment
● Machine, repair, and modify shafts, housings, sleeves, bushings, and related parts
● Assist with repairs for electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, and industrial equipment
● Take accurate measurements using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other
measuring tools
● Read work orders, drawings, and repair instructions
● Inspect parts for wear, damage, and proper fit
● Set up jobs and select proper tooling
● Maintain close tolerances when required
● Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
● Communicate with shop supervisors and team members
● Assist with general shop duties as needed

Requirements:

● Manual machining experience required
● Experience with manual lathes and mills required
● Must be able to measure accurately and pay attention to detail
● Must be dependable and show up on time
● Must be able to work safely in a shop environment
● Must be able to lift and move parts and equipment safely
● Electric motor, pump, gearbox, or industrial repair experience is a plus
● Welding, fabrication, or mechanical repair experience is a plus

● Forklift experience is a plus, but not required

About the Position:

This is a full-time position in an electric motor, pump, and gearbox repair shop. We are looking
for someone who takes pride in their work, can produce accurate work, and understands the
importance of getting equipment repaired correctly.

Schedule:

Full-time, Monday through Thursday. This position works four 10-hour shifts.
