Registered Pharmacy Technician

Currently seeking an experienced state certified Pharmacy Technician for a full time position in Detroit. Under the supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist, you will assist in the provision of pharmacy services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Checks all prescriptions for completeness of information. Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization
• Enters patient data and prescription information into computer system.
• Prepares medication orders and pre-packaged medications in commonly used quantities. Prepares mail-out prescriptions.
• Calculates correct dosages, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
• Types prescription labels and assists with filing and billing. Computes prices.
• Assists with invent01y control of medications. Helps order supplies and medications. Receives and stock medications.
• Provides non-drug information to patients and answers simple inquires.
• Cleans pharmacy equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Attends required meetings and participates in committees as required.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Performs related work as assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

o High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.

o Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program or National Pharmacy Technician Board Certification required for out of state applicants.

o Current State of Michigan Pharmacy Tech License required

o Completion of on-job Pharmacy Technician training program required

o Minimum of 1 (one) year of pharmacy experience required.
