Warehouse Receiving Clerk - Food Distribution

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Summary

Responsible for unloading, receiving, and inspecting incoming shipments of dry, refrigerated, and frozen food products in a fast-paced food distribution warehouse. Ensures all products meet quality, quantity, and temperature standards while maintaining food safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Unload incoming shipments using pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment
• Inspect products for quality, freshness, temperature compliance, damage, and contamination
• Verify shipment quantities against purchase orders and accurately document discrepancies, shortages, or damages
• Label and store products in the correct temperature-controlled zones (dry, refrigerated,and frozen)
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving dock and surrounding work areas
• Follow all food safety protocols, HACCP guidelines, and OSHA safety standards
• Work collaboratively with the warehouse team to ensure efficient receiving operations

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse receiving or food distribution experience is preferred
• Basic knowledge of food safety standards and temperature control
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document information
• Basic computer skills and data entry experience required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and work in refrigerated/freezer environments
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and move for extended periods
• Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to safety
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Work Environment

Fast-paced food distribution warehouse with frequent exposure to refrigerated and freezer
areas. Position involves the use of pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
Strict adherence to food safety, HACCP, and safety protocols is required at all times.
