About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Medical Assistant with a strong background in an Urgent Care setting to join our team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, provides exceptional patient care, and can efficiently support providers while maintaining clinical excellence and outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Room and prepare patients for examination and treatment.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, medications, and chief complaints.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Perform phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, wound care, splinting, and other clinical duties as permitted by state regulations.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by providers.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.
- Perform patient intake, discharge instructions, and follow-up communication.
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and compliant with infection control standards.
- Verify patient information and insurance when needed.
- Assist with occupational medicine, workers' compensation, and pre-employment screenings.
- Support front-office operations during high-volume periods.
- Travel to multiple clinic locations as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 1 years of Medical Assistant experience in an Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or Fast-Paced Primary Care setting.
- Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent).
- Current BLS/CPR Certification.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Experience performing phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, and specimen collection.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical workflows.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between clinic locations.
Preferred
- X-Ray certification (if applicable under state regulations).
- Experience with occupational medicine and workers' compensation cases.
